A non-linear story about killing the monsters – seen through the perspectives of a vast cast of characters and their spiraling conflict over the course of centuries.

When FEAST FOR A KING started on September 25th 2014, it was done impulsively. With no long term plans initially, I leapt into drawing – challenging myself to draw a single page in about an hour or less. My previous attempt at a webcomic, Eggshells, had been lost to a house fire a year before.. but even before the fire I found the process of making the comic unproductive and it was slowly chipping away at my confidence to create at all. I would spend hundreds of hours on a single page, only making the clarity of it less and less readable. After the fire, I had decided that I was simply not cut out for comics and decided to “give up” the comic dream. My stories were too big, too “weird” – and worst of all! I drew them too slow. I’m still not entirely sure why I gave it a shot again, but for THIS comic I would try to do everything differently.. After all, I had nothing else to lose. And.. it worked! Wow. Was it really that easy all along?!

Over ten years later, I am still at it – and FFAK is the true creative love of my life. 

While it is true that originally, I did not write scrips, draw thumbnails, or even sometimes sketch pages before leaping into inking – that changed as the years rolled by. A lot, actually. It wasn’t right away, but the process of making the comic changed as much as I did during this time. So- that being said.. The art does fluctuate.
